We need State Elected leaders to make lasting revenue solutions a priority in our state in order to help every Californian to a place of dignity. We need these leaders to see CA’s Poverty crisis with clear eyes. During the last six years of budget cuts and austerity measures, the number of Californians in poverty has spiraled out of control. Our poverty rate has increased seven times faster than the rest of the nation. Today, 26% of Californians live in extreme poverty. Hear from our panelists a discussion of community advocacy strategies, successes and challenges and how we have been able to have some budget policy wins in California! Panelist focusses include: SSI, Health4All, CalWORKS, and other safety net programs.
